HOW TO CHANNEL

Not everyone can channel, and no amount of practice or wishing can make it so unless the necessary development exists. Those who have a strong desire to channel should examine their motives, for it is difficult to differentiate between the desire to be special and have access to information and the soul's drive to do this work. Relatively speaking, there are only a few people who have channeling as their life work; many more are simply in the development phase and should not attempt to work with others. With this said, let us continue first with an explanation of how to determine if you are ready to channel and then how, in fact, to do it.

There are as many ways this ability makes itself apparent as there are people, which explains why there are so many misunderstandings about channeling and its development. The developmental process is unique for each person and will unfold in its own unique way depending on past life experience with it and current lessons.

Some channels are born with immediate access to this ability, but it is far more common to have it develop later when the individual is ready to use it. If it is to the advantage of the life task and lessons and if it developed fully in former lives, evidence of it may show immediately. More often than not, however, a channel will have certain lessons or karmic patterns to release before she is ready to have this ability operate. For those rare individuals who begin their work as messengers at an early age, it can be very difficult, because they cannot live a normal life. Yet, sometimes this is chosen because it does make such a deep impression on others.

For those who regain their ability to channel at some point later in life, it can happen suddenly or very gradually over a number of years, depending on what is best for the channel's growth. Because of this, those with potential may not know they have it and others without it may wonder if they do. The only way to discover whether or not you have it, and what your current level of development is, is to ask a reputable medium. This is a crucial step in avoiding future difficulties and the possibility of investing your energy inappropriately.

Sometimes a channel will regain full ability without regaining the protection she once had. When this occurs, there is always a reason for it. We know of one highly developed channel who did not receive protection so she would encounter the pitfalls of the lower astral realms to prepare her to teach others about them. She was given excellent information interspersed with inaccurate personal information about the future so that she could learn these lessons. When the lessons were learned, she regained her protection. This kind of teaching goes on rather frequently to varying degrees according to what is needed. When beginning channeling, be aware that it may be used to bring you the lessons you need.
